Founder & Technical Director
Philippa is an expert in translating complex scientific concepts into clear, accessible content. She has an MChem degree (First Class) from the University of Southampton, a PhD in natural product synthesis from the University of Cambridge (Prof. Steven Ley) and completed postdoctoral research at ETH Zurich (Prof. Erick Carreira).
She was an academic at the University of Reading for nearly a decade, ultimately promoted to Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry, as well as achieving CChem and FRSC status. With over 20 highly-cited publications in peer-reviewed journals, experience as an editor of the Thieme journal SynOpen, and having written several text-books for the leading publishers Wiley and OUP, she brings nearly two decades of experience at the cutting-edge of chemistry.
Her substantial chemistry knowledge and background in teaching (culminating in several teaching awards) equips her with the unique ability to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and effective communication, ensuring ConsultaChem delivers content that connects with both technical and non-technical audiences.
